Starting points

Grand Canyon helicopter tours take off from one of two places: Las Vegas, Nevada or Grand Canyon National Park Airport (Tusayan, Arizona). The Grand Canyon helicopter tours from Las Vegas fly only to the West Rim. And the flights out of Tusayan only go to the South Rim. At a distance of 277 miles from Las Vegas, the South Rim is too far for helicopters. There are not any air tours between the South and West Rims.

So now you know the starting locations of the helicopter tours to Grand Canyon. But which one to choose – the South Rim or the West Rim? If you want to see the Grand Canyon Skywalk and have thrilling helicopter flight 3,500 feet down to the canyon floor, then we recommend you The West Rim. In case that you are mainly looking for aerial views of the spectacular natural charm, then we recommend you the Grand Canyon South Rim.

How far is Grand Canyon from Las Vegas? By car/bus it can take up to 5 to 6 hours (roughly 300-360 miles away). By helicopter it will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour to the West Rim (around 120 miles away).
